What Is TRON Energy?
Energy is the resource that pays for executing smart contract logic on TRON, and it's the reason USDT transfers can fail even when you have plenty of USDT.
It's not the same as your USDT balance
Energy is entirely separate from any token balance you hold. It's a network resource tied to your TRON account itself, specifically needed to pay for smart contract calls like a USDT (TRC20) transfer, regardless of how much USDT you actually have.
How you get it
Energy comes from staking (freezing) TRX, which grants a renewing daily allowance proportional to the amount staked, or from another account delegating some of their Energy to you. Without either, the network burns TRX from your balance directly to cover the same cost.
Why this system exists
Charging for computational resources separately from a flat transaction fee lets TRON keep basic transfers cheap while still pricing the more expensive smart contract execution that tokens like USDT actually require under the hood.
