TRC20 USDT Sent to a BEP20 Address

TRC20 and BEP20 use different address formats, but this mismatch can still occur in specific situations where the distinction wasn't obvious.

Address format difference

TRC20 (TRON) addresses start with T, while BEP20 (BNB Smart Chain) addresses start with 0x like Ethereum — most wallets prevent sending directly to a mismatched format, but exchange-generated addresses or custom integrations can sometimes bypass that check.

Confirm what actually happened on-chain

Check TronScan to see whether a transaction actually confirmed on the TRON network. If it did, the funds are still on TRON at that address string, regardless of what network the destination platform intended that address for.

Next steps

Reach out to the platform that owns the destination address, provide the transaction hash, and clearly explain that the funds arrived on TRON rather than BNB Chain — any recovery process has to be handled on their side.
